Reabold Tennis Club hosted the 2023 O3K J125 Open and Junior Event from the
Suss X Active had two of its band ambassadors Payton Duckett and Joey Chuma competing in the Women`s Open and Boys 18& Under events respectively.
It was great win for Payton who was seeded 3rd in the Women`s singles Open. Payton looked steady under pressure from the top seed and was able to deliver a flawless and clinical play that saw her clinching victory with a 6-1,6-4 over the top seed Sara Nikolic.
Joey who was 8th seed played brilliantly in his 18& under singles reaching the semifinals. This match was full of all the ups and downs and had to be decided through a match tie breaker. In a nail-biting exchange Joey went down 6-2, 2-6 & 8-10 against 1st seed Dylan Chuah. It was brilliant effort from Joey and a reflection of better things to come in the future.
Joey then partnered with is best mate Trevor Eastwood in the 18& Under boy's doubles match to clinch the winner in a match tie breaker winning 3-6,6-4, 10-5.
